A chance to listen again to a special interview recorded in 2018 for the show's 10th Anniversary. Then, Ben sat down with good friend John Montague to chat about how Ben's Country Music Show came to be.
Ben featured the second side of Eric Church's new double album, 'Hear & Soul', playing songs from the 'Soul' side of the record. There's also plenty of news from Nashville and your Billboard Charts.
Ben’s Country Music Show is a two-hour weekly radio show featuring the best in country music, roots, Americana and bluegrass which is broadcast on stations across the UK, Ireland and Australia. The show is presented by CMA member Ben Atkinson from his studio in the beautiful cathedral city of Lincoln in the East Midlands of England. In 2018 the show celebrated its 10th anniversary. That’s over a thousand hours of radio broadcast in the last decade!
When Ben’s Country Music Show began back in 2008, the UK country music scene was a very different place. There were lots of fans, but you wouldn’t have known it and barely any artists toured on this side of the pond! In the years since, the country music scene has exploded, with a huge number of festivals, concerts and even dedicated radio stations and TV channels. It’s fantastic to see, but we shouldn’t overlook the fact that we were there right at the beginning and, in the last ten years, Ben’s Country Music show has grown to become one of the most prominent specialist music shows on independent radio in the UK with a growing number of listeners both in the UK and internationally. If you tune in to the show, each week you’ll hear the latest music from the USA and UK, mixed in with country classics and live sessions. Plus, Ben brings you the News from Nashville, This Week in Country Music and both the Billboard country album and airplay charts. You can find a full list of stations that broadcast the show right here, so there’s no excuse not to tune in. And, if you miss an episode you can catch up right here on the website and if that’s not enough, you can discover interviews from across the last decade and our up to date gig guide so you can plan your next concert trip with ease.
