Ben's Country Music Show Week of the 2nd June 2025 – Live from Music City, Eric Church's "Cheifs', and the ICMC 2025

It’s our second week in Nashville, and this special edition of Ben’s Country Music recorded live in Music City, offers a rich blend of personal storytelling, fresh releases, and behind-the-scenes discoveries. We begin with Scotty McCreery’s “Bottle Rockets,” a standout track featuring Hootie & the Blowfish that cleverly samples Darius Rucker’s hit “Hold My Hand.” Rising artist Dylan Gossett’s upcoming debut album Westward gets a mention, and the Brothers Osborne deliver a moving rendition of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” as part of the Petty Country tribute album. There’s insights from the International Country Music Conference at Belmont University, where Ben presented PhD research and a tour through Eric Church’s bar “Chief” on Lower Broadway, its striking architecture, memorabilia collection, mini-theatre styled after the Ryman Auditorium, and on-site barbecue restaurant.
