Ben's Country Music Show Week of the 3rd March 2025 – Kip Moore, Carl Dean, and Vince Gill on the Opry

This episode of Ben’s Country Music Show opens with Mary Chapin Carpenter’s “The Hard Way,” reflecting both a recent concert appearance and its relevance to Ben’s PhD research on the 1993 Women of Country documentary. Loretta Lynn is introduced as the new Artist of the Month for March, beginning with her 1966 signature track “Don’t Come Home a Drinkin (With Lovin’ on Your Mind).” The Album of the Week is Kip Moore’s Solitary Tracks, a 23-song release showcasing his distinctive approach to contemporary country; while we pay tribute to Carl Dean, late husband of Dolly Parton, with her song “From Here to the Moon and Back” and a Dolly-featured version of Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please, Please, Please.” There’s a look ahead to Kelsea Ballerini’s forthcoming deluxe edition of Patterns and in The Vault we revisit Johnny Cash’s 1979 rendition of “Ghost Riders in the Sky” from Silver.
