Ben's Country Music Show Week of the 27th January 2025 – Mary Chapin Carpenter and Friends 'Looking for the Thread'

This edition of Ben’s Country Music Show continues the monthly focus on Randy Travis, featuring his reflective narrative song “Three Wooden Crosses.” The Album of the Week is Looking for the Thread, an Americana release from Mary Chapin Carpenter in collaboration with Scottish musicians Julie Fowlis and Karine Polwart. The record includes two tracks in Scottish Gaelic as well as new material for all three artists. In the "Album from the Vault" feature, Ben revisits two chart-topping country albums from January 1975, while the programme also includes music from Keith Urban, George Strait, Maddie & Tae, Luke Combs, and Cody Johnson. Concert reflections from Brothers Osborne’s recent Leeds performance, alongside tracks from Tyler Braden. There’s a look ahead to the Grand Ole Opry’s forthcoming centenary television special and confirmation of Eric Church’s headline appearance at the Highways Festival 2025 in London.
